James Moran

FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, Major, USMC

Born and raised in New Jersey, James served 9 years and three deployments as a United States Marine Corps infantry officer with 3rd Battalion 6th Marines. Witnessing the bravery of young men and women who endured repeated combat deployments gave him a new found appreciate of the freedoms we hold most dear as Americans. His love of the American west led to the co-founding of the Bar X Project. which helps injured servicemen matriculate back into society.

Since leaving the Marine Corps James founded Semper Fi ATM’s which provides ATM services throughout the country.

He resides in New Jersey with his wife Christen and is the proud father of two daughters.

Rob Lowe

CO-FOUNDER & BOARD MEMBER

Rob is a native Montanan.  His grandfather, Bill Lowe Sr., bought the BAR X Ranch in the 1960's, where the program originated from.  Bill served as a Navy SeaBee in the South Pacific during World War 2, building corral runways on islands.  He returned to build a successful construction in his home state of Montana. 

Rob is an avid hunter and fisherman who spends his time floating the rivers of Montana with his girlfriend, his yellow lab Daisey and the rescue dog Meggars.  He spends many of his weekends at the family farm on the Yellowstone river.

Rob lives and works in Billings, MT. 

Wade Zirkle

BOARD MEMBER, Captain, USMC, Purple Heart Recipient

Wade Zirkle has been the President of BluePoint ATM Solutions since 2009.  BluePoint ATM provides simplified, efficient ATM solutions for small FIs across the U.S. Wade served as a USMC infantry officer from 2000-2005. He was a platoon commander in the invasion of Iraq in 2003, as well as in the First Battle of Fallujah in 2004 where he was wounded in action. Wade is a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He is active in his community, serving as past President of the Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce, as well as on the boards of the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Foundation, The Shenandoah County Community Clinic, and the Virginia War Memorial Foundation.

Wade and his wife, Mary, their children, and their dog, Dixie, enjoy spending their free time in the great outdoors.

Wade has been a proud supporter of the Bar-X Project since its inception.

Kevin Knox “Lighthorse” Nunnally

BOARD MEMBER, Captain USMC, Bronze Star with V, Purple Heart Recipient

Knox served as an infantry officer and light armored reconnaissance officer in the Marine Corps for five years before his honorable discharge as a captain. He completed three combat deployments with 2D LAR Bn to Iraq and was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat V, a Purple Heart, and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals with Combat V’s. Knox currently lives in Houston, Texas with his wife and two sons where he practices law as a Plaintiff’s Attorney.

Edward Slavis

BOARD MEMBER, Captain, USMC

Capt. Edward Slavis served as an infantry officer with Kilo Company, Third Battalion, Fourth Marines from 2002 to 2006. He led during three combat deployments to Iraq and served as platoon commander, company executive officer, and company commander. Edward is currently the founder and CEO of The Slavis Group, a residential real estate firm in the Washington DC area. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and Johns Hopkins University, and lives in Washington, DC with his wife, Laura.
